Lavender Lemonade Recipe

LAVENDER LEMONADE RECIPE
This is a drink that has been served at the Farm in Mona, Utah during our Convention Farm Day Tour, and
gets rave reviews.

7 lemons, peeled & juiced
2 limes, peeled & juiced
14 cups water
1-1/2 cups Blue Agave
1 drop lavender essential oil

Mix all ingredients together and chill. Add more water or Blue Agave, depending on the size and tartness of the fruit.
For most of us, this would be a very large amount; you can cut it in half, while still adding 1 drop of the oil.  VERY refreshing!

Lavender is so versatile…check my blog for two more testimonials from my son (and his cat): www.darbysoilsinfo.com

Spring Essentials for strong immune system and less allergies

The sun is out, flowers are blooming, life is coming back in full force. For some though this means allergy and bug bite season is starting. Spring is meant to be spent outside enjoying the colors and natures re-birth.
To help you enjoy spring and summer I have made a list of some of my personal Spring Essentials. I hope this will come in handy.

Allergy relief:

My favorite oil/blend to help calm allergies is RC:

This blend is composed of 3 types of eucalyptus, lavender, marjoram, peppermint and is perfect to soothe the respiratory system and provide sinus relief. I recommend putting one drop in the palm of your hand and cupping your nose and mouth and inhaling deeply a few times a day or when needed. You will feel a difference right away.

Bug bites:

Prevention: For those evening bbq parties I would recommend putting a few drops of any of the following on your wrists, ankles, behind your knees, elbows and neck:

Lemongrass: On top of aiding the circulatory system and being a strong antioxidant, Lemongrass is also a great mosquito and bug repellent.

Lemon and Peppermint would also be a great combination. A word to the wise, Peppermint is very strong so less is more. Avoid using Lemongrass or Lemon if you are going in the sun as these can stain your skin.

Bug bite relief:

For those itchy bug bites I recommend using Lavender alone or Lavender and Peppermint together. Another great solution for bug bites is Purification.
On a side note, Lavender essential oil is a powerful antibacterial and can be applied directly to cuts and scrapes to help disinfect and heal the cut.

Read testimonials on bug bites from everyday oil users here.

I also recommend adding NingXia Red to your daily regimen, it now comes in individual packs that are easy to take with you and have on the go whenever you need it.  NingXia red is a natural infusion of Whole Ningxia wolfberry puree, Blueberry juice, Pomegranate juice, Apricot juice, Raspberry juice, Organic blue agave nectar, Grape seed, skin, and stem, Lemon rind, Orange rind.  Needless to say it is one of the highest antioxidant and natural energy boosting drinks on the market today. It’s pure health and life in a bottle!

Essential Oils for a good nights sleep

If you know someone who needs to get some sleep, this message was created with them in mind. Please feel free to share this information with someone you know who might benefit by using an all-natural, more holistic approach to a better night’s sleep.

“A friend suggested that I try using the essential oil of valerian for sleep, so I decided to do a little research; the National Institutes of Health has a website devoted to Valerian for Insomnia and Sleep Disorders.: http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Valerian.asp. I was amazed how much clinical investigation there was on the properties of this oil. What I read about valerian was that it was very highly regarded as an all-natural sedative. What I learned about valerian from using it was that it is calming, relaxing, balancing, and a sleep aid. Just an aside, Valerian Root is generally regarded as safe (GRAS) for ingestion by the FDA. I would make sure the oil you use is therapeutic grade. ” John Rosenberger, Moses Lake , Washington

It is estimated that Americans spend $14 Billion dollars, every year, on our Sleep Disorders!

  • 58% of adults experience symptoms of insomnia a few nights or more per week
  • 35% of adults report at least one symptom of insomnia every night or almost every night
  • For those looking for a safe, effective, and cost-effective alternative, Young Living’s beautiful essential oils stand alone.
  • Try some oils tonight before you go to sleep. You may be pleasantly surprised!

“I use Essential Oil of Cedarwood on my feet before I go to bed and sleep like a baby! It stimulates the pineal gland which releases natural Melatonin. I feel this is also good for the brain since Cedarwood is high in sesquiterpenes [brain food]. I have also used Alkalime and Lavender for sleep….love it.” – Jackie K., Hemphill , Texas

“I put my daughter to sleep every night with a story and a kiss. Recently, I have added some reflexology techniques and the rubbing of Peace and Calming essential oils to the bottom of her feet, and some in her palms to smell deeply. The two of us become so relaxed and sleepy that we had to change our nightly ritual to stories first and oils last. She sleeps so soundly her blankets stay perfectly neat until she wakes up in the morning. Wonderful!” Stacy Allen

Suggested Oils for Sleep:

  • Dream Catcher (For Nightmares)
