A. writes: A little while ago, I sent out an email about Abundance oil….and I received some beautiful responses, which I wanted to share with you. But before I do that…..did you know you can use Abundance oil in your wall paint? Noel and I have included that in every painting job we’ve done in the last 12 years. We use 40 drops of oil in 4 litres of paint – and usually we do half Peppermint oil (to disguise the paint smell) and half Abundance oil. When the Abundance oil first drips into your beautiful white paint, it’s bright orange….but don’t worry. It mixes in perfectly, and we’ve never had a problem with it in all the 12 years. Here are some other stories about Abundance oil. This is an oil that I’d never want to be without. I’d say it’s my most frequently used oil in my arsenal.

Ever have strep throat and not want to do the whole antibiotic thing? Here’s what one person did, with great results:
My 6 year old had strep last year. He had 103 temp with white patches on the back of his throat….I decided to try the YL products first before I tried antibiotics. I am soooo happy I did.
This is what we did:
1. I dropped 1 drop of lemon on the back of his throat ( I think he let me do this twice in one day)
2. Then I dropped a couple drops of Thieves in honey and had him suck on that – about 1 TBS.
3. I also made a some warm tea with honey, Thieves and Lemon and had him sip on that. (In fact, I have this mixture with added RC every morning for myself).
4. I was also applying Thieves to his throat and feet.**
By the next morning he was pretty much back to normal. Hope that helps!

Remember, Thieves and the oils in it are all highly antimicrobial…in fact, Thieves has been tested at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and found to have a 99.996% kill rate against all airborne bacteria. And in November 2006, The University of Manchester published findings from their extensive research on essential oils versus the hospital super bug MRSA. In every case study it was found that Thieves ingredients 100% destroyed MRSA. What’s more, it’s been shown that no virus is able to replicate in clove oil, used in Thieves, or indeed in many other essential oils.
Are you diffusing Thieves in your home and/or office? It’s so easy to do…it keeps your environment clear of “bugs” and smells so yummy!
Check out all the products in the Thieves line…I use them all in my home (toothpaste, mouthwash, household cleaner, spray, ..love them!).
**NOTE: Applied topically to OUTSIDE of throat! Also note that undiluted Thieves oil can be “hot” on sensitive skin. Try diluting it at least 50-50 with vegetable oil before using topically…75% veg oil to 25% Thieves with young children.
Air freshener: Use 12 drops of Lemon oil in a squirt bottle with distilled water to use in the bathroom as an air freshener.
Dishwasher: Add 2 drops of Lemon oil to your dishwasher before the wash cycle. Your dishes will shine and your dishwasher will smell great. Use it with a green/eco-friendly dishwasher solution for best results.
House Carpet cleaner: Put 10-15 drops of Lemon oil in each gallon of carpet cleaning solution to help pull out stains and brighten the rug. This also leaves a fresh smell in the room.
Clean fruit: To clean and increase the shelf life of fresh fruit, fill a bowl with cool water and 2-3 drops of Lemon oil . Drop your cleaned fruit into the water and stir. Be sure all surfaces of the fruit contact the lemon water.
Kitchen cleaner: Rub a drop of Lemon oil to clean a butcher’s Boos Block or other cutting surface. A safe alternative to harsh chemicals.
Kitchen Sterilizer: Add 5-6 drops of Lemon oil to water and spray counter tops to sterilize them. Your kitchen will smell amazing and you don’t have to worry about chemicals getting into your food.
Kill germs: Soak your dishcloth overnight in a bowl of water and 4 drop of Lemon oil to disinfect and kill germs.
House Sanitizer: Use a paper towel soaked with several drops of Lemon oil to sanitize bathroom fixtures. No chemicals or toxic fumes.
Stain remover: Use 1-2 drops of Lemon oil to remove gum, oil, grease spots,labels or crayon.
Make sure you only use Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils, store bought oils contain fillers and perfumes and do not have the same properties as 100% pure essential oils. I would recommend using Young Living Lemon Essential Oil.
Oh, Christmas tree, oh, Christmas tree…how lovely are thy seasonal fruits! Mixed with fresh baby greens, this makes a festive holiday salad with colors that glimmer like twinkling lights. I like to introduce this dish by separating the ingredients for my children to design their own edible Christmas trees. I encourage them to decorate any way they choose and then we take pictures of their artwork. They are more excited to eat their creations when they have had their hand in the creative play—and I am thrilled to see them eating healthfully!
Clove, cinnamon, tangerine, and orange YLTG essential oils electrify the taste buds for a delicious, tangy, sweet, and spicy start to any holiday celebration. As we sprinkle drops of orange oil on the salad (see recipe instructions), I like to share with my children the story of how in times of hardship, seasonal fruits and nuts were given as presents instead of toys. The drops of oil nestled within the fresh greens represent oranges as presents under the Christmas tree. The surprise is revealed when tasting the hint of oil throughout each bite. This component should be made at least two days ahead of time. Combine ingredients and pour onto solid dehydrator sheets in one layer. Dehydrate 24 hours @ 105° Fahrenheit. Flip the gooey mixture onto mesh sheets. Continue drying until crisp, approximately 24 hours. Store in the freezer until ready to use.
Half one pomegranate and juice both halves in a citrus juicer, as if juicing an orange. Reserve 1/4 cup extracted juice for the dressing. Blend first three ingredients in a Vita Mix blender. On slow speed, add grapeseed oil until emulsified. Pulse chop the remaining ingredients. (Before adding the tangerine oil, I like to taste the dressing first. Then, I add the oil drops to taste the difference. I truly appreciate how delightful the oil flavors the recipe!)
Toss baby greens with vinaigrette. Mound salad greens in the center of each plate. Drop 4 drops orange oil throughout each mound of greens. Arrange ingredients around plate for everyone to decorate their own Christmas tree. Top the mound with a slice of starfruit (optional).
